Le 9 novembre 2025 à 14 h 30, le Chœur polyphonique de Montréal, placé sous la direction de son chef émérite Louis Lavigueur, présentera son traditionnel concert de l’Armistice, dédié à la mémoire des anciens combattants ainsi que des victimes de guerre.
Cette année, l’œuvre au programme sera la Paukenmesse de Haydn. Le CPM sera accompagné aux grandes orgues de la cathédrale par Colin Miller.

Le Messie est certainement le chef-d’œuvre le plus connu de Handel, mais c’est loin d’être le seul. L’oratorio Israël en Égypte, décrivant les dix plaies d’Égypte puis les festivités en l’honneur de Yahvé après l’exode, est un véritable feu d’artifices musical pour le plaisir des amateurs de musique baroque et de chant choral : le chœur détient la part du lion dans cette œuvre où les choristes chantent à 4 et 8 voix, voire en formation à double chœur. La musique, majestueuse et royale, est à l’image de l’Angleterre pré-impériale, emplie de verve et débordante d’exaltation.

Under the direction of Pascal Germain-Berardi, the emerging choir Temps Fort performs Journal, a major work by Claude Vivier, with soloists Marie-Annick Béliveau, Ariadne Lih, Arthur Tanguay-Labrosse, Clayton Kennedy, and David Therrien-Brongo on percussions.
This concert is an invitation to discover one of Claude Vivier's most intimate works, for which he also wrote the libretto, and which includes passages from Lewis Carroll and Catholic liturgy. Divided into four parts: Childhood, Love, Death and After Death, the work is marked by a dreamlike tone and explores the mystery of the passage to the afterlife, one of the composer's recurring themes.
The Skaði show scheduled on February 13, 2022 (initially planned for April 11, 2020, then February 7, 2021) has been postponed until February 12, 2023. Ticket holders are asked keep their ticket(s), which will be honoured at the venue entrance.
In April 2020, a northern breeze will blow Ensemble vocal Katimavik’s fifty candles. Scandinavian composers - whose choral works are too often neglected and scarcely performed - get centre stage for this exceptional anniversary concert. EVK’ chorists and soloists will be joined by a full orchestra and invite you to discover or rediscover a selection of these northern gems, along with a collection of surprises from the Ensemble’s Best of.

Monteverdi’s groundbreaking Vespers are regarded as a milestone of music history. The variety of both style and structure achieved by the composer was unique for the time. The Vespers reveals Monteverdi to be a man of both the church and the theatre; the work is a perfect synthesis of these two expressions of his genius. Cette œuvre monumentale, pinacle éloquent de la perfection et de la rigueur, plane depuis sa création dans les grandes hauteurs du firmament de la musique. Composée par Jean-Sébastien Bach en 1724, elle retrace la Passion du Christ d’après l’évangile de saint Jean, dans une création à la fois dramatique, théâtrale et empreinte d’une intense ferveur. La Passion selon Saint-Jean sera présentée par l’Ensemble Telemann à l’église catholique de Saint-Lambert le 13 novembre à 20 heures.

He then confesses to God in what would become Psalm 51, Miserere mei, Deus (Have mercy upon me, O God). Many composers in different eras have set this imploration to music. We are presenting four masterful versions by composers of various backgrounds: a version by Josquin des Prez written for Ercole d’Este (1504), Gregorio Allegri’s famous version for the Papal Chapel (1638), one by Leonardo Leo for the Chapel Royal of Naples (1739), and Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s so-called “Miserere des Jésuites” (1683).

The Mission Saint-Charles Choir and Orchestra join forces to pay tribute to the creative genius of Georg Philipp Telemann. The composer, arguably one of the most famous of the late Baroque, is also one of the most prolific, having composed nearly 6,000 works for all types of ensembles, including sacred works with Latin texts for very special occasions.
On the program: instrumental works by Johann Friedrich Fasch, a contemporary of Telemann, as well as psalms for chorus, soloists and orchestra in which Telemann explores French and Galant styles, demonstrating that he was both versatile and forward looking.
