A message from Douglas Knight, director:
In May 2017 we will perform a “Mozart plus” concert featuring two sacred works by the celebrated composer. The concert will open with his Missa brevis in F, KV 192 written in 1774; this work is of particular interest in his treatment of the Credo. Next on the programme will be his Vesperae solennes de confessore KV 339 written in 1780; this was to be the last choral composition he would write for the Salzburg Cathedral.
The “plus” portion of the concert will be a collection of motets and madrigals by Palestrina, Arcadelt, Passereau et al., as well as contemporary works by such composers as Rutter and Sirett.
